RENOVATION ACTIVITIES DURING 2014-15
A decade ago, a group of youngsters led by KV Narayanan and Shantu had renovated the temple using the technique of sand blasting. All the rock portion of the temple had been cleaned by this unique method and the temple has started to have an entirely different look. To display the vast difference between before and after renovation, the photographs have been taken, and the following link shall exhibit the grandeur of the temple after renovation.

6th December, 2020 was an important day for the management of the Temple. More than 35 Kesavan thamars congregated at the temple premises to discuss and decide the plan for renovation and maintenance of the temple. The zeal and enthusiasm, the dedication and devotion manifested on that day by all gave a great hope that our temple would be maintained in a befitting way by the enthusiastic youngsters in future and their services, both by way of manual services as also donations, subscriptions and e-seva and such services would be perennial like the flow of River Ganges. In the Group message, Sriman K.B. Srinivasan, the Managing Trustee immediately on the conclusion of the meeting sent a message which is reproduced herein below:
“Respected Hon'ble Members,
You for the overwhelming support and cooperation extended for the meeting on Dec.06, 2020. You would all agree, I suppose, went on well very smoothly. Courtesy to those who were on the dais and everybody made it smooth by maintaining both the coram and decoram. The information shared about our temple and spread by many especially Shri T.T. Murali Swamy, Shri K.V. Narayanan, Shri Shanthakumar and Santhosh, K.B. Brothers, dear Bharathi, Shri K.V. Sampath were highly and delightfully interesting and in nutshell the meeting was a grand success with the wholehearted participation, consolidation and cooperation of one and all and I personally thank each and every member for his/her contributions by way of funds, suggestions, blessings and so on which is a clear indication that Shri Aadikrsavar and Shri Varadaraja Perumal (in our temple the Moolavar is Aadikesavar and the Utsavar is Varadaraja Perumal) have decided to bestow their Anugraham on all Kazhurians. The blessings will be multifold with the PURUSHAKARAM of Shri Yathirajavalli Thayar as the meeting was conducted at Her Lotus Feet. The enthu exhibited in rendering the Kainkaryam is evident during the meeting as every member voluntared their contributions even before a request was made.”
Revathi Mandapam and Guest House: By December 2020, Sri K.B. Sampath with his own funds and under his supervision and with the approval of the Trust Board, erected the grand and elegant Revathi Mandapam and in the adjoining plot, where a small, dilapidated Archagar residence was situated, a full fledged guest house with all amenities including two toilets and one bath room attached with geyser and embedded வெந்நீர் தவலை, was constructed. The guest house has two halls, one kitchen and two rooms one of which is used as office room. Devotees who visit the temple are utilising the guest house for their conveniences.
The erections as above cost nearly 12 lakhs, funds having been provided by Sampath and his sons – K.S. Sriram and K.S. Srivatsan.
It was by mid 2021 that some of the members, including Shri K.B. Sampath, suggested that I (K.B.S. Rajan) should take charge of fund collection towards uplift of the temple. An appeal was made by Sri KBS Rajan to various friends and professional colleagues and within a few weeks funds poured and a stupendous sum of Rs 15 lakhs plus reached the bank account of the Sabha. Of these, three (Mohan Sampath, K.R. Narasimhan and M.S. Narasimhan ) are from our village, while the rest 58 are in no way related to our temple or the village! The list is as under:-
The following are the work accomplished with the help of the above funds:
Thirumadappalli: The renovation work started with the Tirumadappalli which has been fitted with long granite slabs to facilitate preparation of Prasadams ( Sarkarai Pongal, Puliyodharai, Dahiyannam, Kadambam etc., ) and proper ventilation arranged and the front portion has been fitted with rough stones with certain shelves for accommodating various items.
Store Room: For securing the vessels belonging to the Temple, there was a requirement of a separate store room and the same had been catered for.
Strong Room: With a view to securing some silver items and ornaments, need was felt to have a strong room and accordingly with specially erected strong walls, a strong room with strong door has been constructed.
Rough Stones throughout the Praharam: All our temples are known for rough stones on the praharam. The suggestion by experts was that the thickness of the slabs be not less than 6 inches. And, stones were thus specially got prepared and throughout the Praharams the rough stones were laid which has enhanced the grandeur of the entire temple premises.
Compound Wall: The southern side of the wall gave way while laying the stones on the floor of the temple and hence, there was an urgent need to replace it. While reconstructing the said compound wall, to facilitate the parikrama, the space on the left side of Thayar Shrine had been widened.
Solar Power: Frequent power cuts in the village prompted the management to consider erection of solar panel to the temple and the guest house. One Shri Gopalakrishnan of Gensolar was kind enough to undertake the job and completed the job perfectly. This gives uninterrupted and unlimited power supply both to the temple and the guest house.
CCTV: With a view to ensure security to the temple at vintage points CCTV Cameras have been installed.
